Firepits allow a roaring fire nearly anywhere outdoors you want one. There are many styles to choose from, and a wide range of prices. There are models that burn wood and models that connect a propane tank to make for a easy to light, smoke-free fire.

Adding a firepit to your patio or backyard space is a great way to both keep away the chill and to add ambience. A firepit is a great way to keep your entertaining outdoors, into the evening.

To read more about firepits and other ways to stay warm outdoors, take a look at our Outdoor Heating articles.

Safety Check Kid's Play Area

As the summer approaches, kid's will be going outside to play. If you have a play structure or playground equipment, give it an inspection for safety. Make sure there are no exposed sharp edges, protective coverings are in place, inspect for rust and check that all moving parts are secure and operating properly.

This should be a very hands on inspection because kids are very hands on. Run your hands over surfaces to check for splinters or burrs in metal. Check swing seats and chains for damage. Just give everything a thorough once over before letting the kids start using equipment that has been sitting unused for a while.

This list is provided for your convenience, it is not a comprehensive list of every maintenance item your home may require.
