Insulating a home isn't just about energy savings, its about comfort too. Weatherstripping around doors and windows, reduce drafts, as does replacing windows with dual-pane upgrades. Adding insulation in the attic and covering the spot in the ceiling that opens into the attic makes a significant improvement in keeping your home's temperatures stable; warm in the winter and cool in the summer.

Consider having an energy audit done, to find the weak spots in your home's insulating blanket. Some utility companies conduct them free of charge or for a nominal fee.

We have added a tool review section to the Acme How To website. We will regularly conduct consumer focused reviews of tools and home improvement related products.

Take a look at the some of the reviews we've done on products by companies such Stanley, Bosch and General Tool.

Keep checking back to read new reviews on tools, both mainstays in the market and new and innovative products from lesser known companies.

This list is provided for your convenience, it is not a comprehensive list of every maintenance item your home may require.
